2008 Recap

Well, 2008 was a pretty good year. I enjoyed an amazing spurt of growth early in the year that only got better as time went by.

Unfortunately there was one minor setback: a trip to the salon for a trim turned into a major haircut! Leaving 2 months of growth on the salon floor.

An unexpected pregnancy (surprise!) found me lazing around the house trying to keep my food down. Thinking about my hair quickly fell to the bottom of my list of priorities. Frequent conditioner washes and daily bunning was the order of the day. And guess what? My hair loved it!
Is it possible I've found the right mix of products, tools and habits that will assure my hair goals? I think so. And the key if friggin' simplicity.

Tomorrow I talk more about the genius of simplicity.

Stay tuned.....

Welcome

Thanks for dropping by my blog! This site is dedicated to my seemingly never ending search for healthy long hair. I'm not talking about "cousin It" hair. Just enough to make me happy.

Black haircare pioneers like Annie Pope Malone and Madame CJ Walker paved the way for healthy ethnic hair. However recent years have found the industry lacking the curiosity and adventure these women possessed. Modern black hair care focuses primarily on styling versus health. Hence the epidemic dependence on weaves, phony ponies and extensions to emulate healthy growing tresses.

So....this blog will attempt to pick up where these two women left off: researching, experimenting and sharing basic ethnic haircare.
